Digital Media Technology students from the El Reno Campus recently participated in a film workshop held byFilm Education Institute of Oklahoma (FEIO).Executive Director of FEIO, Trevor Rogers, has been coordinating and producing these workshops for the past five years. The FIlm Production Workshop created an environment to foster growth by providing hands-on learning experiences. Workshop participants created a short film side-by-side with industry professionals. FEIO uses industry partnerships that ensure the equipment participants are learning on is at the cutting edge of what is used to make movies today.
This year, DMT students Hayden Hutchins, Carson Morris, and Andrew Terrel participated in the 3 day event, held at NW Classen High School, December 27-30. Hutchins and Morris worked in the Grip department, while Terrel was a participant in the Electrical department. The students received hands-on training and IMDB credits for their participation in the workshop.
FEIO workshops not only allow students to gain experience on a real film set, but open the door to network with others in this industry who could be their eventual colleagues or bosses.
