What Benefits Do We Offer Students

Instructors are industry experts. We recruit instructors from their field (for instance: our welding instructors are previous professional welders).
Computer
Yesterday
CV Tech responded as computers began taking a foothold in the workplace. Auto service, nursing and welding were pillars of the student population. Aviation Maintenance has been a mainstay program for over 50 years. Students are attracted to the hands-on career with excellent pay and benefits that is the state’s No. 2 industry (behind energy).
Today
Three area campuses provide educational career programs to high school juniors, seniors and adults. Several hundred more employed adults are provided customized training each year through the school’s Business and Industry Services division. College-prep options, such as Biomedical Sciences and Pre-Engineering are STEM academies starting with your sophomore year.
Tomorrow
Pending approval of a Sept. 12 bond issue, CV Tech transitions into a public safety hub for law enforcement, firefighters and ambulance personnel with construction of a planned public safety facility. Additional classrooms, shops and labs also would be provided with bond funds at both the Chickasha and El Reno campuses.

Our programs are designed to create a well-trained workforce to meet the needs of business & industries in our community.  Our story of Niagra is an excellent example of how we partner with the local manufacturing industry.  We also offer career training in needed fields such as health care, first responders, and will soon start a teacher prep program.

Spotlight Story

Kati Davis was naturally drawn to a fascination with haircare. Braiding, brushing and barbering are in her bloodlines. Both her parents were employed in the haircare industry during her childhood.

Davis, 31, of Tuttle, took a first step into their footprints when she enrolled in the Cosmetology program at Canadian Valley Technology Center in 2008 while also a student at Mustang High School.

She cut hair to pay bills while attending the University of Central Oklahoma. In August 2022, Davis achieved her dream of becoming a small business owner by opening Kati Davis Hair Co. It is located at 310 W. Main Street in Downtown Tuttle.

“I specifically wanted a private salon space so I could create a positive, welcoming and personable environment for my clients. I think that sets me apart from larger salons,” Davis said.

Appointments are required at Kati Davis Hair Co., and bookings are currently running about three to four weeks in advance. Her specialties include extensions, lived-in color, balayage, spirit braids and tinsel.
