About Course

The electronic health record (EHR) is integrated into many medical practices today. Learn how the EHR is used in the physician’s medical office. During this course you will review the basics of administrative and clinical use by entering patient health information into EHR simulation software, understand why health information in the EHR is private and secure, as well as how to use the EHR data to bill insurance companies for payment of services rendered.

Note: Online only. Enrollment deadlines 8/6/24 & 10/8/24.

To get the most out of online courses, the student will need basic computer skills, a good computer, and a high-quality Internet connection. Necessary computer skills include, but are not limited to, the ability to:

  1. Open and send email, including attachments;
  2. Conduct an internet search for information on a selected topic;
  3. Upload and download documents;
  4. Use online quiz tools; and
  5. Navigate in an online environment.
