About Course

1. Foundations of Interior Design

Discover the art and science of transforming spaces in this comprehensive introduction to interior design. Students explore design principles, color theory, space planning, lighting, materials, textiles, and design styles through hands-on activities and weekly guided lessons. Ideal for aspiring designers, decorators, hobbyists, and small business owners, this course builds both creative confidence and practical skills.

Through projects such as mood boards, palettes, sample boards, and a final residential design concept, students learn how to bring ideas to life using both traditional and digital techniques. No previous experience required.

2. Interior Design Drafting & Client Presentation

This intermediate course expands on foundational design knowledge by focusing on the technical and professional skills needed in the interior design field. Students learn hand drafting, floor plans, elevations, and introductory digital design tools such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, or Photoshop.

The course also emphasizes real-world application—client communication, presentation development, budgeting, sourcing, and the full design process from consultation to installation. Students complete a final design board and verbal presentation, gaining portfolio-ready work and confidence in presenting design solutions to clients.

Note: Students will need to take Foundations of Interior Design first, as the second course will build upon the project you created in the first.

In-District students include those whose permanent residence is within any technology center district in Oklahoma. Proof of residency in the form of a utility bill, lease agreement, or mortgage will be required.
