About Course

This course serves as a prerequisite for entrance into the LPN or Surge Tech full-time programs. Online curriculum with weekly online instructor office hours via video conferencing available, required on-site skills check-off and testing available weekly. This 45-hour course of Medical Terminology establishes a foundational understanding essential for health programs. Students will first master the language of medicine, focusing on the structure, pronunciation, and meaning of medical terms. Weekly testing required on campus.

 

Required: Book, not included in cost. For the March class, students must take the Accuplacer exam. Weekly testing on campus.

 

Note: Online only. Enrollment deadlines 1/6 & 2/20.

 

Important: 

To get the most out of online courses, the student will need basic computer skills, a good computer, and a high-quality Internet connection. Necessary computer skills include, but are not limited to, the ability to:

  1. Open and send email, including attachments;
  2. Conduct an internet search for information on a selected topic;
  3. Upload and download documents;
  4. Use online quiz tools; and
  5. Navigate in an online environment.

In-District students include those whose permanent residence is within any technology center district in Oklahoma. Proof of residency in the form of a utility bill, lease agreement, or mortgage will be required.
